Jeff Francoeur Is Prepared
1. What three unique items do you plan to include in your Ready kit in addition to the basics?
I plan to add as many snacks and water as a Ready kit can hold! If I could find a way to store a steak in my kit, I would include that too. Other important items I would include would be my family’s medical records and items to keep my wife and dogs comfortable because they’re very important to me. I’m also including a DVD player and movies, if the situation isn’t too serious and we’re safe, movies would help pass the time.
2. Why do you think emergency preparedness is important?
You never know what is going to happen. You could lose your house and maybe even someone you care about if you are not prepared, so it is very important to be ready for every unexpected situation.
3. Have you or a loved one experienced an emergency where a Ready kit would have come in handy?
I have been fortunate to never experience an emergency, but my Dad and I do have experience preparing for one. We had to board up our house on the waterfront before a severe storm one time. We boarded up all the windows and evacuated before the storm hit. We missed it by about five hours and were lucky we didn’t have to wait out the storm there. If we had to stay, a Ready kit would have been invaluable.
