ReadyKids
Kids, put your planning skills to good use. Help your family get prepared for the unexpected. Being prepared for a natural or man-made disaster, such as a hurricane or tornado, can ensure that you and your family stay safe and stay together.
There are many ways you can help your family get prepared:
- Help your family prepare its Ready kit. Make sure to include some games, toys or favorite foods for you!
- If you have pets, help your parents prepare for them too
- Ask your parents about your family’s communication plan: do you have a meeting place? Do you know Mom and Dad’s work and/or mobile phone numbers?
- Check out ReadyKids America for tips and tools with Rex, the ReadyKids mascot. Or visit the Sesame Street gang for more activities to get you and your family prepared.
- And, if your school or community is holding an event, ask them to invite Rex to attend!
Invite Rex
Rex, a strong and confident mountain lion who encourages children to help their families prepare, is the mascot of the Ready campaign.
