Make Ready Georgia Part of Your Local Community

Debby Layman of the Oconee County EMA took the Ready Georgia campaign to new heights. She used the campaign toolkit to make the message of “prepare, plan, stay informed” relevant and important to her local community.

The events surrounding Ready Georgia in Oconee County garnered front-page media coverage from local papers and also landed a spot in the Oconee County Board of Commissioners newsletter.

Though Debby’s efforts did take some planning and a lot of enthusiasm, she did not have to blow the bank to get her messages out to her local residents. With some dedication and resourcefulness, any local group can help its community get on board with Ready Georgia too. Contact us for more ideas.

We talked to notable Georgians to see just how prepared they are.
